Cneoridium dumosum - Bush Rue

Evergreen shrub to 3-5 ft. Fragrant white flowers in spring resemble citrus blossoms. Attractive to butterflies. Host plant for the giant swallowtail. Foliage turns a beautiful golden-orange in late summer. Native to San Diego County. Good for foundational planting and bank stabilization. Gloves recommended while pruning as oils in the plant may cause skin irritation. Full sun. Low water. Tolerates a variety of soils. Hardy to 0°F.
